What We MAY Collect (Premium Users Only):

• Email address: Only if you subscribe to Premium, managed entirely by Apple or Google's payment systems
• Payment information: Processed exclusively by Apple App Store or Google Play Store; we never see your payment details

Local Storage Only:

All of your mood data, notes, and settings are stored exclusively on your device:

• SQLite Database: Mood entries, tags, and historical data
• SharedPreferences/UserDefaults: App settings and preferences
• Device Encryption: Optionally enable device-level encryption

No Cloud Storage:

We do NOT use:

• Cloud databases
• Remote servers for data storage
• Third-party analytics platforms
• Sync services

We share ZERO data with third parties. Period.

• No advertising networks
• No analytics companies
• No data brokers
• No research institutions
• No government entities (except as required by law with a valid warrant)

User-Controlled Sharing:

The ONLY way your data leaves your device is if YOU explicitly choose to export it via the CSV export feature. You have complete control over what you share and with whom.

We provide multiple layers of security to protect your data on your device:

• Biometric Authentication: Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint lock
• Custom Timeouts: Configure how long before the app locks (1 minute to 6 days)
• PIN/Passcode Fallback: Alternative authentication method
• Screen Privacy: Content automatically hidden when app goes to background
• Local Encryption: Optional AES encryption for sensitive data
• No Network Transmission: Mood data never sent over the internet

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store:

• Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google
• We never see your credit card or payment information
• Email (if provided) is only used for subscription management
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account

Free tier users require NO account and NO personal information.

Gentle Jot is designed to be safe for users of all ages:

• We collect NO personal information from anyone, including children under 13
• All data stays on the device
• No social features or chat functionality
• No advertising or third-party content
• Parents can review all data by accessing the device

• We collect NO personal information
• We sell NO personal information
• There is NO personal information to delete from our servers

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• Notify users through the app (if material changes)
• Post updates on our website
